Love Sutton

Do you love your community?

At Sutton, we have decided we really do. We had so much fun making the blankets earlier this year that we we have decided that we would like to do more to help people close to home.

Now the weather has turned colder we have been thinking a lot about the poor people who sleep on the streets. We have decided that we would like to do an ongoing fundraising drive to help local homeless charities.

We aim to make two deliveries in the year, one in the summer, and one in the winter.

If you would like to get involved, we would welcome donations of the following:

  • toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, soap etc)
  • toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • socks (new)
  • gloves
  • hats
  • small bottles of water
  • bags of sweets
  • canned food
  • canned fruit
  • Plasters
  • Paracetamol
  • dog food
  • dog treats
  • poo bags
  • sanitary products

If you would like to get involved, we will have a collection point inside school reception. If you can, please add one or more of these items to your basket the next time you go shopping and send them to school. There will also be a collection point in school on Parent's Evening.

We will be holding regular fundraising events to raise money that we can use to buy vouchers to enable homeless people to have a warm bed for the night or a hot shower.

Pupils will be making bags in Lifes Skills lessons to put items in to give to the homeless, and we hope to make our first delivery in a few months time.
