Welcome Back from the Safe & Wellbeing Hub

We would like to welcome all of our families back to school after the long summer break. We know that returning to routines can sometimes feel challenging, and that some of our children may be experiencing anxiety as they settle back into school life.

For our SEN children, one of the most effective ways to ease anxiety is by supporting them to develop a good, consistent sleep routine. This helps them to feel more settled and ready for the school day. For further advice and resources on supporting children with anxiety, Barnardo’s has some helpful guidance, which you can find here: Barnardo’s Anxiety Support

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank parents and carers for your collaboration last year. Together, we achieved an overall school attendance of 93.16% for 2024/25. This is a fantastic achievement and shows the commitment of our school community to ensuring that attendance supports not just academic progress, but also children’s mental health and overall wellbeing.

As we move forward into this year, please remember:

  • Late arrivals will continue to be monitored. Any child arriving late—whether travelling independently or dropped off—will be expected to make up the missed learning time during intervention sessions after school.

  • Early collections will not be permitted, except in exceptional circumstances.

These steps are in place because every minute of learning matters for our children. We appreciate your continued cooperation, as this work is always done in the very best interests of your child’s learning, wellbeing, and future opportunities.

Thank you again for your ongoing support. Together, we can ensure that our children have the best start to the new school year.
