Performing Arts

Intent 

To provide an engaging and relevant introduction to the world of performing arts. The performing arts sector covers a wide range of activities, and so the choice of units available enables the precise nature of the qualification to be tailored to meet the interests and progression aspirations of individual groups of students.

Implementation  

As pupils progress through into Hills and Rivers, they can expand their knowledge of music, drama and dance and work towards gaining a vocational qualification BTEC Level 1 Performing Arts, WJEC Entry2/3 Creative Art and Media, and ASDAN Entry1 Engaging in Creativity (Personal Progress). 

Pupils have the opportunity to develop their interest in any strand of Performing Arts through Pathway lessons. Units are tailored to ensure every pupil is working towards their individual goal and interest. From singing, dancing and acting, to backstage, scenery, musical technology, video editing and lighting, pupils experience an insight into the world of theatre and production.
