Transition

A Guided Tour

Sutton is a purpose built day school for pupils aged 11-16 whose educational needs cannot adequately be met in mainstream schools.

Situated close to Dudley town centre, the school caters for approximately 180 pupils with a range of needs including social, emotional, communication and specific learning difficulties.

Our vision is to provide every member of the school community with the opportunity to achieve his or her true potential and ambitions through a broad, balanced curriculum matched to their individual needs including full entitlement to the National Curriculum.

We endeavour to bring out the best in our pupils so that they mature into adults capable of an independent life which will be personally rewarding and of service and benefit to their local communities.

Planned Transition Information

Parents and Carers Transition Meeting - Date Thursday 20th June (4:00 - 5:00 p.m.)

We will be hosting a ‘Parents and Carers Transition Meeting’ during our final Lets Make Friends session. Parents and carers were invited to attend this meeting to learn more about the roles of key staff. You will be able to meet your child’s class teacher and visit the classroom where your child will be learning. There will be opportunities to explore the school environment and complete any admissions information ahead of September 2024. This meeting is always a great success and many parents feel able to prepare and ask important questions regarding the transition process.

Wonderdome:

On Friday 5th July 2024, we will be welcoming 'Wonderdome' into school where our new students will be able to experience the wonders of space through a mobile planetarium show.

An autism-friendly pre-visit information pack is available if you would like to learn more about the show and what to expect.
